In 1991, Robert Calvert, Harry Williamson and Gilli Smyth with the inimitable Thom the Poet, took the famous Rick Cafen circuit round the U.S.... Rick was the central spider in a web of cities with friendly promoters in different cities putting on gigs. Such was Steve Taylor in Cleveland, Michael Clare in San Francisco, Gary Fick in Baltimore, Craig Mitchell in Texas, Rick Dodderidge in Kansas, who also recorded a lot of it, and many others....

In those days you could get a 250$ season ticket from Delta for a month's travel anywhere is U.S....,so we lived on plane and people's houses. What a trip... plunging into the lives of previously unknown "hosts" for the  days of the gig. Then, leaving, and another airport, another welcoming committee and another airport. An adventure of all shades... an excellent adventure... and many thanksfor making it  to Rick Chafen for his time and enregy and all the others for their work and hospitality
